Taguchi Testing:

Taguchi Testing, based on the works of Japanese statistician Genichi Taguchi, provides methods to test several changed features in one test and exactly tracing back any variation in results to the specific changes.

Testing ads , squeeze pages, sales letters etc. to optimize in the direction of best possible conversion rates can be an arduous and time consuming task. Usually one would tackle this problem by changing one detail, e.g. the headline  or even just the color of the headline, and split test both versions for a sufficient amount of visitors. Then one takes the winner and lets it compete against another version with another changed detail.

The point, which makes this method so time consuming, is, that if one would change not only one but two or more details to save time one would never know what exact change would be responsible for a better or worse result. Therefore standard split tests compare only 2 versions with exactly one changed detail, for example one version with the headline in red, the other with the headline in blue. That way it can take dozens or even hundreds of tests to finally arrive at a point where all relevant parts of an offer could be considered as well optimized.

The Taguchi Testing method shortens testing dramatically and improves the efficiency of testing.

[Test comes from Latin testum = earthen pot (in which metals could be melted so that the quality of the metal could be verified)]
