Homepage:

The Homepage or starting page is simply the main or welcoming page of a website which serves as an index to the other documents of the site. This is the page which is loaded in your Internet browser if you type the main domain name in the address bar. For example www.ebay.com leads to eBay’s Homepage.

In most cases the Homepage is used to give a visitor an overview of the whole site’s content and provide a clear navigation menu.

Note that in some countries like Germany or Japan the term “Homepage” can also refer to the whole website.
