Ezine:
Ezine,
short for electronic
magazine, is a periodic
publication on a certain niche
topic posted on a website
or a blog
or distributed as email newsletter
to confirmed subscribers
.
There are free Ezines and paid Ezines.
People publish Ezines because
it is a
significant and effective business tool to develop
relationships within their niche, to keep in touch with their
clients/prospects, to build trust and reliability, to position
oneself as an expert in a subject and to increase
sales.
A successful Ezine with a huge and
responsive subscriber base is also an income source in itself
because it will attract other Internet marketers eager to
advertise in it and willing to pay considerable prices for
their ads (see ezine
advertising
).
The negative side is that an Ezine publisher has to come up
with new, high quality content
every day, week, month or in
whatever intervals his Ezine is published. This content
must be considered as valuable and informative by the
subscribers, otherwise they would unsubscribe. The
publisher’s list would then shrink and this would mean
less circulation of his own messages and lower revenue
from advertisers.
[Electronic
is from
Latin electrum, Greek
elektron
= amber (because
electrical charge was first generated by rubbing
amber);
Magazine is of Arabic
origin, makhazin
=
storehouses, in the sense that a magazine publication can
be a “storehouse” of
