Duplicate Content:
This term relates to
website content
and it’s value for a high ranking in the
search
engines. Duplicate
Content means that the exact article
, report or text can be found also on other
websites
. If search engine spiders
detect websites with Duplicate Content, only the site
which was indexed first will be considered as the source and
get the credit for it as original content. All others will
be discounted.
It doesn’t necessarily mean
your website will get banned or penalized right away if you
include one article on your site which is published somewhere
else already. After all most webmasters create their site for
their visitors - not only for the search engines - and want to
provide valuable content for them. This is taken into
consideration by the search engine algorithms. However, this
might not hold true anymore if a site exclusively or in it’s
majority consists of Duplicate Content.
Therefore if you
consider joining a membership site providing PLR
articles as a content resource for it’s members, or
acquire PLR articles from other sources, be alert to the fact
that the articles might be published by several other members,
too. It’s advisable to edit them before putting them on your
site. Using PLR-articles together with a Content Generator
Software might be detected by the search engines and get your
site banned. See under Content
Generator for more
information.
[Duplicate
goes back to
Latin duplicare,
duplicatus= to make double;
