Direct Marketing:
Direct Marketing is a
branch of general marketing which stresses the direct contact
to individual customers with an advertisement or promotional
action and the tracking of their responses. This gives the
possibility to analyse the feedback, evaluate the effectiveness
of the promotion and according to the result enforce or change
it.
Direct Marketing methods
would include mailings to letterboxes, emails, phone calls and
the use of any other “addressable” media. If an advertisement
campaign on one of this channels is started it is then possible
to directly relate the responses coming in over a specific time
period to this campaign.
This would not be possible
when other, not addressable promotion actions would be used,
such as TV-, radio- or billboard advertising which would not be
Direct Marketing tactics.
The goal of Direct
Marketing is to exactly find out what the public needs and
wants and how the customer demand could be fulfilled in the
best possible way.
