CPA Network:

As stated in the definition of CPA, a CPA campaign consists of an advertiser and a publisher. A CPA Network is the intermediary which connects the advertiser with one or many publishers.

For example a company wants to expand it’s base of potential customers and launches a CPA campaign to generate 10.000 leads. It contacts a CPA Network, they agree on the terms under which the offer is run and it is taken up in the Network’s campaigns list. Every CPA Network has many publisher members who can pick those offers off the list they think they can make the most money with.

For every lead generated this way the advertiser has to pay the publisher and the CPA Network.

CPA Network

This is a small part of the campaigns listing on CPA Empire, one of the biggest CPA Networks showing the name and description to a campaign and how much it pays for a publisher. The ”Exp” column tells the date when the offer expires. The entry “Real” under “Update” means that the publishers earning statistics are updated in real time.

CPA publishers can browse through the list or through similar listings in other Networks to find the best offers for them to promote. The most important information for them is the payout per lead and – even more important – the EPC (earning per click) which tells how well the offer is converting.

In the above example the highlighted and enhanced (for better readability) entry 1 pays less than 1/10th compared to entry 2 but it’s EPC is 3 times as high. Calculated from it’s EPC only one out of 183 visitors to the page takes action and fulfils the offer 2, whereas offer 1 requires only 5 visitors.

To pick an offer a publisher clicks on the campaign name to receive his unique offer link which he then can promote in his PPC campaigns or place on his website. Every visitor landing on the offer page can be traced to the referring publisher by the CPA Network system.

For advertisers cooperation with a CPA Network can be a great way to expanding the base of customers or to making sales. After all he doesn’t have to pay for the whole traffic to his site generated by the publishers of his offer but only for this part which actually takes action.

For publishers promoting CPA offers can be immensely profitable. However, it requires a lot of knowledge and experience on:

  1. how to select out those offers which can be turned into a profitable campaign (by far not every offer will generate profits)

  2. how to pick the best keywords for the PPC campaign to drive traffic to the CPA offer AND

  3. a way to sort those keywords which convert well and make money from those which do not convert and lose money

[Cost is from Latin constare = to be fixed, to cost;

Action is from Latin actionem,  agere = to do]
